I discovered early in my career that what I enjoy most isn’t simply processing information—it’s understanding it. Commercial insurance appealed to me because every account tells a different story, and every underwriting decision requires balancing data, judgment, communication, and risk.
Over the past several years, I’ve built my experience in the excess and surplus marketplace, supporting underwriters on complex commercial casualty accounts while developing a strong appreciation for the relationships that exist between brokers, carriers, and insureds. I enjoy the analytical side of underwriting, but equally important to me is the ability to communicate clearly, collaborate effectively, and continuously improve processes.
My academic background in communications has shaped how I approach my work. I believe technical knowledge becomes significantly more valuable when it can be explained clearly, whether that’s working with brokers, supporting underwriters, or helping internal teams solve problems together.
One characteristic that has consistently shaped my career is curiosity. I enjoy understanding not only how underwriting decisions are made, but why they are made. That mindset has led me to continually expand my knowledge of commercial insurance, emerging technologies, and the evolving role of artificial intelligence within the industry. I believe the future of underwriting will belong to professionals who combine sound judgment with a willingness to embrace new tools and continuously learn.
As I continue building my career, my long-term goal is to deepen my expertise in risk management while contributing to organizations that value thoughtful analysis, collaboration, and continuous learning.
